Welcome to the IP3 website!
IP3, 'Improved Processes and Parameterization for Prediction
in Cold Regions', operated from 2006 to 2011 as a research network with a prime objective of improving understanding of cold regions hydrometeorology. The project conducted
wide-ranging studies of surface-water and weather systems, based on
field investigations in Canada's Rocky Mountains
and the Western Arctic, with the aim of enhancing the
capabilities of a suite of operational software models.
Made possible by funding from the
Canadian Foundation for Climate and
Atmospheric Sciences (CFCAS), and established under
the
University of Saskatchewan's Centre for
Hydrology, the network fostered and co-ordinated research by scientists from
across Canada, the USA, Europe and elsewhere.
Summarised information about the aims of IP3 are available from
brochures (published in English and Français), and
the 'IP3 Primer'. |
