        3rd June 2010: John Pomeroy was interviewed by the Ottawa Citizen 
        for an
        
        article discussing the relationship between the Rocky Mountain 
        cryosphere and prairie water resources.
28th May 2010: The Saskatoon Star Phoenix printed a letter from IP3 Principal Investigator John Pomeroy, discussing the vital importance of research - and therefore of adequate funding from appropriate agencies - in helping to ensure the sustainability of water resources.
	
        27th May 2010: This week's Rocky Mountain Outlook reported on the Parks Canada Research Update presented by Masaki Hayashi at the Whyte Museum of the Canadian Rockies in Banff, on 20th May, detailing progress with his work in the IP3 research basin at Lake O'Hara.         Security to be established at U.Sask
        The University of Saskatchewan has announced the establishment of a 
        major new focus for water-related research, the Institute for Water

        Water Security Symposium, Ottawa, 
        27th-28th May
        CFCAS and Environment Canada are jointly hosting a Symposium on Canadian Water Security - The Critical Role of Science in Ottawa, 27-28 May 2010. IP3 and other researchers and decision makers from the academic, governmental and industrial community will present information on the context of water at home and abroad, on extreme conditions, the impact of climate on water quantity and quality, policy options and transboundary issues. All those with an interest in water resources are invited and encouraged to attend this event or share this invitation with others.

Snow & Ice Speakers Series
        IP3, along with many Bow Valley partners, is sponsoring a Snow and Ice Speaker Series in Canmore, Alberta, January-May 2010! We will have seven speakers provide presentations on snow and ice research in Canada, Europe, and the United States. Video and audio files of the presentations will be made available on-line following each evening's event (see Outreach page for links and further information).
