December CFCAS Newsletter available on the CFCAS website (13 December 2007) Presentations and brief Workshop Report from the 2nd Annual IP3 Workshop are now available. (29 November 2007) CIRMOUNT Newsletters (Consortium for Integrated Climate Research in Western Mountains) are available on-line from the NOAA website (updated 15 April 2008) Nicholas Kinar successfully defended his M.Sc. Thesis on "Acoustic Sounding of Snow Water Equivalent" in the Department of Geography, University of Saskatchewan. The research for this thesis was partly supported by IP3. (7 September 2007) IP3 is pleased to announce the appointments of two new colleagues: Edgar Herrera has joined IP3 as the network's GEM Modeller, and Tom Brown is IP3's CRHM Modeller! Edgar joins IP3 from INRS in Québec where he earned his Ph.D. in 2007 in "Développement d’une méthodologie hydrologique/statistique pour estimer les débits d’étiage au Québec habité." Edgar will be running the GEM model (Environment Canada's Global Environmental Multiscale Model) in IP3 research basins to assess the model's current parameterisations and to assess the effect of improved parameterisations on weather and water prediction in GEM. Tom is developing the Cold Regions Hydrological Model for the IP3 Network by improving model functionality as well as adding basin modules based on IP3 research on cold regions processes and parameterisations. (30 August 2007) The Report on the 1st IP3 Workshop is available. (29 November 2006)
An Op-Ed Article by John Pomeroy, "Research Needed to Secure Water," was featured in the Saskatoon Star Phoenix on 19 October 2006, the day of the IP3 Network Launch. (20 October 2006) Press release (17 October 2006) Communiqué (le 17 octobre 2006)
